A little gratitude goes a long way

May 25th, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

“Our work-a-day lives are filled with opportunities to bless others.  The power of a single glance or an encouraging smile must never be underestimated.” – G. Richard Rieger

A little gratitude goes a long way – Honor your Self with some ME-Time Now™, and ask yourself, “What am I most grateful for right now and what is one simple way I can share this gift with another today?” When our hearts feel the fullness and warmth of gratitude, we can bask in the perfection of this moment and radiate our joy to those around us!

Have it your way…

Stop and smell the roses

April 26th, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon – instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.” ~Dale Carnegie

Are you so focused on what it is you are looking toward in the future that you are missing what’s right here for you to enjoy right now?

Sure, it’s great to “plant seeds” today that, with time, receptivity, and perseverance, can blossom into the things you desire for yourself and your family, but try also to remain present and appreciative of the current moment you have available for you to enjoy right now.

Take a little ME-Time Now™, look around you, and savor all of the wonderful gifts that surround you, both inside and out. Allow yourself to experience the excitement and joy that feeling gratitude for who you are and what you have right now can bring! As the old saying goes, “Be sure to stop and smell the roses” during this beautiful spring season!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

April 22nd, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

As the warm Spring weather arrives, I see people all throughout my neighborhood gardening and getting their yards ready to be beautiful displays of summer blooms and sweet-scented bouquets.

Now, I’ve been known to spend a few pleasant early-evenings outside “weeding” with my youngest daughter (She just loves to get all of her stylish butterfly-themed gardening tools together and head out to the front yard with mom as the sun begins to set and the cooler evening air gets ready to settle in.), but I’m certainly no gardener. Yet even I know that, in order to have those gorgeous, colorful, flowering yards, it first took somebody not only planting the seeds, but taking care of the seedlings when they sprouted so that they could mature into the pretty petals we all so enjoy.

So, my question for you this month is this: What kind of seeds are you planting for your Self?

ME – Time Now

March 15th, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

When we move away/relocate to a new town, one of the hardest parts is leaving cherished friends behind. Did you know that strong friendships are a bigger predictor of longevity than even close family ties? According to Prevention Magazine, a 10-year study out of Australia researched ways to lower the risk of obesity, depression, and even heart disease. It found that friendships are a major factor in our health and longevity, and the key lies in the type of relationship, not the number of friends.

Do you have some longtime friends that you have not talked to in a while? How about committing to some ME-Time Now™ and giving them a call this week (even if it means actually scheduling a specific time to do so in your calendar to be sure you get to it). Instead of feeling like you are doing something frivolous or indulgent by spending your valuable time chatting with an old pal on the phone, you can think of it as honoring your Self with a healthy habit that could improve your health and increase your longevity!

See, we all knew that something as fun as catching up with our “bestest” girlfriends had to be good for us!

Let your ME Blossom

March 3rd, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

It is so interesting to really pause, look around at the “stuff” that surrounds us, and give thought to the meaning, metaphors, and energy they carry for us. If you happen to be somewhere in your home right now, please pause for a moment and look around at your surroundings. How do the items you fill your life with make you feel? Do you look around you with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart, or do you feel stressed out, or a weight in your chest, or maybe even a crinkle in your nose and brow like you just tasted something unsavory?

Maybe it is time to shed some of that “stuff”, along with the internal baggage it carries with it for you. For my friend who is going through a divorce, she realized she had been paralyzed under the weight of the “clutter” that surrounded and filled her. Once she was able to make the connection between the two, she started to come to life! She prepared to sell the majority of her household belongings, and we moved from room to room deciding on what was truly precious and/or necessary, and what she was ready to let go of.

With each item she decided to cast off, she said she could physically breathe more easily and fully. I have literally watched her energy rise and her inner-Self blossom like a flower awakening in the sun’s Spring warmth. Honestly, it has been that authentic and beautiful! Her ME, which had been buried beneath all of the weight she’d carried on her shoulders for so long, is growing freer and shining brighter every day!

As you look around you and think about the things in your life that weigh you down, what would you like to shed and let go of? By breaking free and moving away from the “clutter” that holds you back, you can move forward with renewed energy, enthusiasm, and empowerment in the directions that your ME is truly guiding you to go.

Me Time Now: Get More Sleep

February 3rd, 2010 lynnmomevolve No comments

Still looking for a great New Year’s Resolution (or “Revolution”, as both my 9 year old daughter and Dr. Mehmet Oz refer to them!) – Honor yourself by getting more sleep, so you can rejuvenate, regenerate, and start your days off fresh!

Dr. Oz is adamant about us each taking a good look at ourselves in the mirror and telling ourselves that we are worth nurturing with seven hours of sleep each night! In his recent article “It’s All In How You See It – The Resolution Revolution“, Dr. Oz says, “Sleep is one of the most important and most overlooked health drivers. You simply must give your brain time to re-organize its files and your tissues time to repair themselves.” He goes on to say that he wants us to “stop seeing sleep as a luxury where you can cut corners. It’s all in how you see it — so see it differently and put it on your resolution list!”
