Mmm, Mmm Good (Seasons, that is!)
A friend of mine gave me this Good Season’s salad recipe a few years ago after she served it at a party we attended where it was a huge hit. It’s been a summer crowd-favorite at many-a backyard party with us ever since.

It’s crunchy and sweet, but a little zesty – and the sunflower seeds give it a really nice twist!

Give it a try at your next neighborhood gathering!
This past weekend, my husband and my daughters spent some quality “Fun With Daddy” time making a recipe called “Noisy French Toast” from a cookbook titled Kitchen for Kids – 100 Amazing Recipes Your Children Can Really Make. It was wholesome and delicious (and we made it even more nutritious by substituting a few organic ingredients). The cookbook is full of “No Sharp Knives – No Stove-Top Cooking – Kid-Tested Recipes”. We’ve tried a few treats and meals from this simple and beautifully illustrated book, and my kids (as well as us bigger kids!) have enjoyed them all!

Wouldn’t you know, the author, Jennifer Low, is a mom of two young children herself! You can check out her website at http://kitchenforkids.com/welcome/about.htm (where you can also try a free recipe and purchase the book), and you can see a thorough preview of the book at http://books.google.com.
My little chefs give this kid’s cookbook a 5-Spatula rating!
Since we’re all ready for a “taste” of Spring, give a few of these Spring Snacks for kids a try! My kids love Ants on a Log, and sometimes we mix it up with Ants in a “boat” (a.k.a. graham crackers).

Put some Spring in their step and smiles on their faces with some naturally fun snacks!
